Like a princess waiting for a prince, who comes...but never rescues her.

I listen for the ice-cream truck and hear its' Beethoven,
But I never see it come.
The tune fades away and lingers in my memory,
Like a thought once filled with hope,
But neglected by time.

I heard it again once,
I could hear the melody,
Dancing through my soul as it crescendos,
Its' presence stepping closer to my reality.

It was untill that sweet pink van drove right past,
That I was shunned into the depths of savouryness,
And to never eat sweets again,
For eternity.
